Photomontage

This project presents a conceptual redesign for the cover of Virgil Abloh’s book Icons. The design is based on a photomontage that integrates the designer’s iconic elements, using a surrealist concept to represent him. Two versions were developed to explore the piece's versatility across different editorial contexts.

  • Image Treatment: Advanced digital composition and masking techniques were used to achieve a seamless integration between organic elements (portrait) and three-dimensional objects. A global lighting adjustment was applied to unify the color temperature of all sources.

  • Chromatism and Contrast: The main version uses a high-saturation neon green to create visual impact while respecting the original tones. The "Dark" variant focuses on deep blacks and sharp contrasts, prioritizing elegance and sobriety.

  • Cover Design and Mockup: The graphics were applied to an editorial mockup to evaluate the spine and cover behavior under different light conditions and textures. Special attention was paid to the placement of typographic elements and logos to ensure they respect bleed zones and safety margins.
